Rent tube map released and the results are eye watering

London’s Time Out have been doing some digging into the cost of renting in London and the results aren’t pretty for potential tenants. Using Thrillist’s tube map, we are able to see the average rent prices for one-bed flats within one kilometre of each station on the Underground, and it shows just how costly renting in the capital can be.

As expected, rent prices are very high in the centre of London with monthly rent for a one bedroom apartment near Hyde Park hitting almost £3,000 per month.  The most surprising statistic is the average monthly rent on the outskirts of London. A one-bed in Southgate is fetching £968pcm, whilst the maximum we charge at Host Families for a month in Southgate (with breakfast and evening meals included) would be £660 – saving you over £300per month!
